2008 giving year.

you have an idea that you think would make a difference
in Cleveland? We’d like to help you make it happen.
To submit your idea for funding consideration:
1) Download this form (word
version), follow the instructions and email your answers to info@clevelandcolectivo.org
with the subject heading "Colectivo submission”.
2) If you are not able to send your answers
via email, please print this
form (pdf format), follow the instructions, and mail
your answers to:

Funding
Criteria
In
order to be eligible for a Cleveland Colectivo grant you, your project
or your organization should:
1) Provide direct benefits primarily or entirely to residents of the
Cleveland Colectivo's designated service areas: the city of Cleveland
and/or its inner-ring suburbs.
2) Have a discrete project
in mind that has a beginning and an end. We are interested in funding
individuals, organizations or projects, none of which need to have 501(c)
3 tax-exempt status.
3) Understand that the size of grant you receive could be anywhere from
$500 - $5,000.

How to Make Your Proposal Standout
- Ensure that your project is specific and has a clear set of
benefactors
- Identify any current or potential collaborations with other
groups
- Keep budget within Colectivo’s scope ($500-$5,000)
- Ensure funding request is for a specific project within a larger
organization or projects that might otherwise be difficult to fund.
- Do not request funding for everyday operational expenses; do
not request funding that will just go into a larger pool of funds.
- Project does not have to be a new idea but ensure that the project
is interesting and innovative
- Explain why this project is important for Colectivo to fund
and how money from the Colectivo will make a real impact on the project’s
success
- Explain the added value this project will bring to the community
- Understand your audience:
- Broad group of individuals
from Cleveland area
- All Volunteers
- Want to ensure money is spent well
- Want to fund champions of their field
*Additional Note: The Colectivo is not restricted
to funding 501(c) 3 organizations. We can contribute to both individuals
and for-profit ventures.

Join
The Cleveland Colectivo
There
are two levels of membership to join the Cleveland Colectivo: Donor
Level and Volunteer Level.
Donor
Level
Donor
Level Members are considered voting members and are expected to
donate $400 a year.
Please note that
friends and families can pool money to have one “collective” membership.
This would earn them the right to one vote.
One time contributions
or contributions above the level designated above are also welcome.
Donors
may choose to give via check, cash or automatic withdrawal. Note:
you must make at least a $20 donation per month/quarter in order
to sign up for the automatic withdrawal option.
Volunteer
Level
Volunteer
Level Members are not voting members, but may contribute
to the group through attending meetings, and participating in the
applicant review process.
